20. Why is your logo three circles?

We were inspired to create our logo by a photo of three small children, all of different ethnicities, sitting next to each other. The three circles in our logo are meant to represent these three children, of different skin tones, sitting together. The three circles are to remind us of the interconnectedness of our world, and the importance of this connectedness to our children. Haiti Babi strives to strengthen this global connection, from Haiti to Seattle, from blanket maker to blanket purchaser, from woman to woman, from mother to mother: moms helping moms.

21. How is Haiti Babi changing lives?

Haiti Babi gives moms jobs. We believe that economic development is the key to ending global poverty. We don’t believe in hand-outs, but in hand-ups. By giving a mother a job, she is able to pull herself and her family out of poverty. We have seen Haiti Babi Moms go from struggling mothers to proud, healthy, and happy women and because of that, even greater Moms. With a job at Haiti Babi, a mom is able to afford rent for a house, send her kids to school, and afford food so her family can eat every day.

22. What else do you do at Haiti Babi?

Our main focus is on creating jobs, but we strive to care holistically for our Moms, too. Our transportation program allows Moms to commute to work safely all week.
